RE: Free but slow vs. paid but fast?

Quick follow up on my email I sent the other day about an older lady that needed an electric trike assembled. (If you missed the email, I pasted it in the P.S. below)

As I mentioned, she decided to get someone else to do it because she was looking to get it done asap even if it cost more.

Well funny story: the guy she got to do it is actually one of my clients! (He's local to me)

Guess that proves my system works pretty well: first person she called was me. Second person she called was my client that uses the same sytem.

I found out because I got an email notification saying my electrician client just got a new review (I monitor my clients reviews when they use my 5 Star Authority Engine system). And noticed that it was a lady with the same name that called me that got an electric trike assembled. Small world!

Anyway, just thought that was kinda funny and I would share.

P.S. Here's the original email I sent if you missed it:

Some people value speed over price. Even for simple things.

Quick backstory to prove this point:

I recently started up a test business to prove that my 3 step system works for pretty much any small business, even from scratch.

So I started a bike repair/assembly business out of my garage. I'm doing work for free to help my community and get some reviews to my GBP.

Anyway, an older lady called me today.

I missed the call, but I have a missed call textback system in place (learn from this too). She responded to the text, so I continued the conversation.

She needed an electric trike assembled and asked the price.

I told her it's free since it's an experiment business and also because it's Christmas.

She said "oh no, I'm going to pay you".

So I told her I'd come pick up the trike this evening, assemble it tonight, then bring it back in the morning.

She was happy with that.

But she must've wanted it done asap because she texted me back a few minutes later saying she found someone to come assemble it at her house today.

So even though I offered completely free work, she would still rather pay someone to come to her and get it done quickly.

Takeaways:

Take a look at how fast you respond to leads (I did this instantly using a missed call textback system since I couldn't answer the phone right away).

Take a look at how quick you can schedule jobs for your customers. If it's not same day or next, hopefully that's because you're booked solid.

I also proved that brand new businesses can get found on google with a simple Google Business Profile (that's set up properly) and an optimized website (that took me an hour or two to make).

Hopefully there's a takeaway or two in there for you to implement in the new year and crush it!

Merry Christmas!

Taylor

Hey Reader I'm thinking of building an app to help others fully automate their email newsletters. I've noticed a lot of people (myself included) want to create newsletters but don't have the time or know what to write about. My idea is to create an app that does this for you automatically but still uses your actual thoughts and knowledge. I'm thinking like this: You train the app on your knowledge base and voice/style you save random notes to a notes app on your phone. Basically just jot...
