Stand out when your customers are ready (part 1/6)

The first step of my obsessive TV buying process was research and reading reviews.

Luckily the TVs I was looking at had a lot of good info online which made it a lot easier to narrow down my decision.

(If you missed the intro to this 6 part series, you can read it here. Today's email will make more sense if you read that first)

This should be the same for your business. You need to show up online when people are in the research phase. And you need to have good, detailed reviews to help make their decision easy.

There's a website called RTINGS that does super detailed, unbiased reviews of all kinds of things, TVs being one of the big ones. I did tons of research and comparisons on this site before buying a TV.

Just like TVs need to stand out on RTINGS these days, your business needs to stand out on Google.

There's a lot that goes into this, but the simplest method I've found is this:

  1. Set up and completely fill out your google business profile
  2. Have an optimized website
  3. Get customers to leave reviews on your google business profile

Luckily, I have a couple resources to help your customers choose your business when they are in the research phase:

1.The Local Visibility Trifecta checklist:

This is my detailed checklist to help you with all the points listed above. It's made as a DIY walkthrough on how to boost your business online and attract more customers.

2. The 5 Star Authority Engine:

This is my software that completely automates your online reputation.

  • Requests reviews from every customer
  • Responds to all reviews
  • Posts reviews to your website, facebook, and instagram pages

See ya tomorrow,

P.S. I deleted my notes on what the next 5 topics were supposed to be, so I'm gonna have to think about my whole TV buying process again to remember what I was supposed to write about.

I think tomorrow is "Sales Part 1" and covers knowing your product and competitors. But let me recreate my notes and get back to you on that tomorrow haha.

Took me a few days, but I'm back with part 5. Got lazy/busy this past week and never finished my business tips I learned from buying a new TV. So let's get to it... My last email was about making it easy for your customers to buy your thing and give you money. (If you missed that one, or any of the other parts, I'll have links in the P.S. of this email) Today I'm going to go over what I learned when installing my new TV. And how it relates to your on-the-job work. Since you're the expert in...

Yesterday I talked about the importance of follow up. (If you missed that one, I'll have a link in the P.S. of this email) Today I'm going to go over something equally important in your sales process. Something that could make or break a deal that should already be done. See, after I did my TV research and found the one I wanted, we went back to Best Buy to get it. I wanted to go to the store instead of buy online for a few reasons: One, I may get lucky and find a last minute open box deal....

Yesterday I talked about knowing your product. (If you missed that one, I'll have a link in the P.S. of this email) Today I'm going to go over something equally important in your sales process. Something that will automatically put you in the top 20% of your industry. It's simple. You probably think you're already doing it. But most people don't. That thing is Follow Up. Something the Best Buy employee did not do at all (I'm not even sure if Best Buy sales reps are even allowed to follow up,...
